Health workers and traditional healers formed TAWG in 1992 to offer voluntary services to people and their families affected by AIDS / HIV. Since then TAWG has evolved to include numerous prevention and educational activiies.

Our headquarters are in Bombo Regional Hospital in Tanga. We also have offices in three district hospitals in the region. We collaborate with the Regional Medical Officer and try to bridge the gap between traditional and modern medicine.

TAWG was officially registered as an NGO with the Tanzanian government 1994.
